De strijd tussen de underground scene en de mainstream is nog niet gestreden, zo blijkt uit een aantal posts op social media van dj Seth Troxler. De underground house dj is het niet bepaald eens met de muziek van Camelphat en dat zorgde voor een hoop commentaar.

Seth Troxler beschrijft de muziek van Camelphat als ‘EDM vermomd als house’. Ook met het feit dat Camelphat de kroon spant qua Beatport sales is hij het niet eens.
I think everyone is entitled to an opinion. Good or bad a free society should give us the option to voice said opinions. I dont like a lot of things. Possibly noting more then edm disguised as house music. This is my opnion. And im not sorry about that. #camelgate 🤷♂️

Deze controversie werd gauw opgemerkt door fans en andere artiesten, wat leidde tot een uitvoerige discussie. Zo vraagt Eden - de zanger van Camelphat’s track ‘Siren Song’ - zich af waar Seth Troxler zich zo druk om maakt.

Eric Prydz mengde zich ook in de discussie en daagt Seth Troxler uit om het succes van Camelphat’s mega hit ‘Cola’ en ‘Constellations’ te overtreffen.
