Presentator Essential Mix jubileert

Ter gelegenheid van Pete Tong’s jubileum als radio-dj voor BBC’s Radio One, waar hij via diverse programma’s al twintig jaar de spreekbuis is voor dance-liefhebbers, dj’s en producers, sleutelde hij zelf een Essential Mix in elkaar. Beluister hem hier.

Zonder Pete Tong zou de evolutie van dansmuziek nooit zo'n vlucht hebben genomen als in de afgelopen 20 jaar, zeggen collega's van de Britse dj op de BBC. Hij geldt als de ontdekker van legio producers en acts en gaf ze een platform op de Britse radio.

De bekendste show van de charismatische dj is natuurlijk de Essential Mix, die al draait sinds 1993 en inmiddels een enorme berg mixen bevat van alle grootheden die actief zijn (geweest) in dansland. Deze week is het tijd voor een van meest invloedrijke personen uit de dancescene himself.
