Een leuk raadseltje aan het begin van de nieuwe week: een geheim collectief van houseproducers heeft een online label opgericht. Elke release wordt 200 keer als gratis download aangeboden, waarna de tracks worden gedelete. Welkom in de wereld van Little Walter Records…

Een slimme marketingtruc in deze tijden van ongegeneerde muziekpiraterij: simpelweg het aantal mensen dat je release kan downloaden enorm beperken. Zo creëer je instant exclusiviteit en een flinke buzz op de dancefora, want ‘wie zitten er nou achter het mysterieuze nieuwe label Little Walter Records?’

Van het Little Walter weblog worden we niet veel wijzer. De enige achtergrondinfo is een manifest:

De eerste 200 downloads gingen vorige week als warme broodjes en deze release is inmiddels van het weblog verdwenen. De Poirots, Christies en Sherlocks onder ons moeten dus nog even geduld hebben; de tweede release is onderweg.
