Carl Cox lanceert nieuw label

Carl Cox neemt langzaam een stapje terug van het draaien, maar in die extra vrije tijd gaat hij natuurlijk niet stil zitten. Sterker nog hij heeft weer iets nieuws gevonden om zich mee op de muziek industrie te storten.

Carl Cox blijft bezig

De beroemde techno dj heeft een nieuw label opgezet waarmee hij elektronische artiesten die hun muziek live kunnen of willen uitvoeren een kans wil bieden. Het label heet Awesome Soundwave (ASW) en de eerste release is van Coe. Zijn album ‘MNTNTS of SLNC’ komt in mei uit net als twee remix EP’s. Een van de tracks van het album werd al door Carl Cox gedraaid in zijn BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix eerder deze maand. Check die single hieronder:

Carl Cox zelf gaf de volgende toelichting over het opzetten van zijn label en waarom:

‘The idea is to bring together a whole plethora of amazing producers and would-be live acts in the realms of electronic music and bring them to the forefront of where we are to take the music into the future. My idea was to create a label where artists who actually can make their music live, and perform their music live, have a stable where they can be themselves, be able to create the music without any boundaries and to feel free in the sense of releasing music without prejudice in any way, shape or form.’
