Rapper Lil Nas X heeft op World Pride Day, op 30 juni, via Twitter laten weten dat hij homoseksueel is.

De artiest bracht eerder deze maand zijn nieuwe EP '7' uit, inclusief de track 'C7osure', een nummer waarvan Lil Nas X wilde dat zijn fans er heel goed naar zouden luisteren.

In de tekst zong hij ‘Ain't no more actin', man that forecast say I should just let me grow. No more red light for me, baby, only green, I gotta go. Pack my past up in the back, oh, let my future take a hold. This is what I gotta do, can't be regretting when I'm old.’ Hiermee doelde hij dus op zijn coming out.

Old Town Road

Lil Nas X zijn naamsbekendheid is heel wat gestegen na het succesvolle nummer ‘Old Town Road’. Ook in dit nummer, vooral in de bijbehorende videoclip, gaf hij een hint dat hij homo is, maar dat viel niemand blijkbaar op.
