Zijn Worldwide Radioshow op de BBC, elke zondagavond tussen 21:00 en 23:00 herhaald op Arrow Jazz FM, is voor ons vaste prik. Vandaar dat we zo nu en dan terugblikken op wat eclectische muziekmeester Gilles Peterson in zijn show voorbij heeft laten komen. 

Gilles Peterson, op zondag 10 juni te bewonderen in de Amsterdamse Sugar Factory tijdens Wicked Jazz Sounds, is een paar weken op pad geweest. Voor de Britse dj/radiomaker betekent dat hij de wereld is rondgevlogen op zoek naar obscure dansmuziek. Soul, jazz, funk, latin, house, broken beat en hiphop. Het zijn slechts enkele genres die aandacht krijgen in Gilles Peterson Worldwide.

In de show van afgelopen week niet alleen ruimte voor nieuwe muziek, samen met Cinematic Orchestra-producer Mark Ronson (check dat nieuwe album dat deze maand uitkomt!) spit Gilles in de bak vergeten klassiekers.
