Coming weekend the city of The Hague in The Netherlands welcomes over 150 artists to 34 stages across the city centre. The programme of CultuurNacht present TodaysArt will offer a more multidisciplinary but equally experimental line-up such as events like Sonar (Barcelona, Spain), Mutek (Montreal, Canada), club Transmediale (Berlin, Germany) and Fuse-In (Detroit, United States) and brings progressive and renewing acts in contemporary music, podium - and visual arts such as film, video, photography, fashion, dance, theatre and new media. One of the technology related highlights of the festival is the Ableton Live 5 software showcase and interactive presentation. Ableton Live is the only solution designed for each stage of the musical process, from creation to production to performance.

The Ableton Live 5 interactive presentation, workshop and jam-session in The Hague is presented by Ableton expert, and artist Christian Kleine (Morr Music). Kleine tells about this presentation: The aim of the presentation is to give an overview of the concept and basics of the Live music software. Ideally, it should be interesting for novices and experts, as I hope everyone can draw something out of it. The workshop offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of sound design and electronic music production using innovative software products such as Ableton Live 5. The Ableton programme takes place at the Paard van Troje venue (small stage) at the Prinsegracht in The Hague at saturday the 24th of September between 21:00 and 22:30 hours. After the Live 5 showcase, Funkfest (NL) will show his Live 5 skills and heat up the evening with a Quadrafonic liveset. The Hagues dirty brown and miserab! le Bunker label takes over the stage after midnight with Legowelt, Schmerzlabor and dj Overdose. On the main stage in the Paard van Troje Detroit DJ and producer Activater aka Sharif Zawideh, techno/electro duo Fixmer/McCarthy (Terence Fixmer and - ex Nitzer Ebb vocalist- Douglas McCarthy LIVE) and raw Chicago madness DJ Traxx present the future of electronic music.

The total line-up of the TodaysArt festival consists out of qualitatively proved and well known productions, as well as daring and never seen artistic expressions of mostly young, still unknown artists. Beside this unique mix, TodaysArt brings together several disciplines. Surprising cooperations between disciplines are stimulated in order to create a modern and progressive spectacle. Unique, metropolitan and contemporary acts - with a focus on visuals, music and performance - are presented in such a surprising way in which the visitor can form its own vision and feeling. CultuurNacht presents TodaysArt promises to be the adventurous as well as the easy-accessible peak of the cultural season in the Netherlands.
