So, apart from that what else is going on? Well, Ibiza season has truly got into it’s swing and what a season it seems to be this year. Every year people wonder whether Ibiza has had it’s day but the last couple of seasons have seen the island blossom with record numbers of clubbers making the trip for fun in the sun. All over the island club nights have been ramming out week in, week out and it’s not even reached peak season yet. There are a number of factors, which contribute to the popularity of Ibiza. The fist is pretty obvious: there is no other place on earth that has as many quality nightclubs squeezed into such a small area. The second reason is that for decades the island has attracted a wide cross section of international party animals who give the place a crazy yet cosmopolitan atmosphere. The third and most important factor is house music. At the end of the day Ibiza would hardly be the clubbing capital that it is today if everyone was listening to rock music. No where else can you find house music in so many different forms, from Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez rocking Pacha with their US sounds to the likes of Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell smashing out UK hard dance at Eden. I’m starting to sound like a member of the Ibizan tourist board here, but seriously, if you’ve not been before you really need to check it out. I’ve been lucky enough to play in Ibiza on a number of occasions and the first time I went I really fell in love with the place. Go there once and never look back! Until next time… Tom
